“Understanding People Who (Still) Dress Like Jane Austen” with Ted Scheinman BK ‘07

Tuesday, March 16, 2021

7:00-8:00pm

This meeting will be conducted on Zoom.  Instructions will be provided upon registration

On March 16th at 7 p.m., Ted Scheinman (BK '07) will discuss his book Camp Austen: My Life as an Accidental Jane Austen Superfan (FSG, 2018) with a lively talk about how fandom brings people together. From couples who met on the dance floor at an Austen convention, to pen pals in Pakistan, Ted's talk will address the question of why folks go to such lengths to express their fanhood for Jane Austen, whose appeal seems to grow with each passing year. A lighthearted, informative time is promised to all.
