Please join us for an evening of Latin American and Spanish film! Yale Pro fessor Margherita Tortora will join us for a conversation about films in Sp anish and their use as a vehicle to immerse audiences into different and un familiar points of view. She will provide a brief overvie w of some of the themes and topics explored by independent filmmakers, and share an invitation to watch new productions during the upcoming Latino and Iberian Film Festival at Yale during November of 2021. An excelle nt documentary that Professor Tortora recommends everyone watch before the talk is 500 Years by Pamela Yates and Paco de Onís. It is a portra yal of an endemic problem that affects all former Spanish colonies. Here is the trailer.
