Gabrielle will share and discuss the images for h er current photography exhibition, Seminary, which portrays member s of Yale Divinity School’s LGBTQ community in portraits taken over the cou rse of a year. She will explain the concept and image-making proce ss, and describe how it developed into a project meant for the walls of the Yale Divinity School. About the Speaker Gabrielle Muller (MAR ’20 Yale Divinity School) is a photographer and filmmaker working in and around New York City. Muc h of her work investigates the way generational memory relates to public an d communal narratives about self and other, and the function of shame and s ecret-keeping surrounding expectations about sexuality, gender, and class. She recently completed a graduate degree in theology and visual art from Ya le Divinity School, and her photography exhibit, Seminary, is curr ently on view at Yale Divinity School’s Sarah Smith Gallery. Her award-winn ing film, Crossroads of America, was released in 2020.
